Our Mission

A commitment to a more inclusive and diverse corporate America.

The Black100 was founded to promote generational sustained change in corporate board diversity. Our organization aligns with companies committed to diversity, global executive search firms, and fellow diversity and inclusion allies to place 100 Black executives on corporate boards by the end of 2022.

Letter from the Founder

As an executive and a double minority, I stand on the shoulders of many incredible Black professionals who paved the way to the C-suite. Despite advanced degrees, demonstrated corporate success, and participation in professional development programs, corporate board seats remain elusive for Black executives. The stark reality is there are many qualified Black prospective board members, but the system continues to fail us.

Like many other Black executives who have endured the weight of systemic racism on their careers, I wish to turn discussions about racism into actionable plans to combat prejudice and inequality in the workplace. The Black100 is just that, a solution-oriented platform designed to aggregate a pipeline of strong Black leaders and provide support, training, and access to corporate boards.

There is much work to be done at Fortune 100 companies, where action has not followed lipservice. Allyship is more than post on social media, it’s a change at the highest levels of leadership. I am very hopeful that the Black100’s allied approach and board-ready curriculum will have a generational impact on our society.

If you are moved by our mission, don’t hesitate to get involved. Reach out to us with recommendations on great Black candidates who would be phenomenal board members. If you currently serve on a board that is not diverse, please create an account and start to plug talented Black candidates into your board recruiting process.

We welcome any donations to defray the cost of training and membership for our Black100 pipeline. Wherever you are in your career or influence spectrum, you can help combat racism and inequality.

The time is now. Let’s go!
